Singers like Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal are almost like settled in Kannada film industry. Other singers like Kunal Ganawala, Shaan, Baba Sehgal, Alisha Chenoy, Late Mohd Rafi sahab, Kishore da, it seems there is no singer left who haven’t tried in Kannada language. Now finally the legendary singer Asha Bhosle will sing Kannada song for the movie Mandahaasa for composer Veera Samarath. The goes ‘Jothegara nilla Jothe yaaru Jothegara Ninage Kadhiruve’ penned by Raghavendra Kamath. Mandahasa is produced by Basava Reddy under the banner of Advik Motion Pictures Pvt Ltd directed by Rajesh Nair having Rakesh Adiga, Chetan and Nikki in the lead role.

The Punjabi actress Mahi Gill made her debut from in Bollywood with Dev D opposite Abhay Deol as Paro. This Chandigarh girl won the best actress Filmfare awards (critics) this time for her performance in Dev D. Mahie is more into art movies than commercial movies. Her upcoming movies are  ‘Aage Se Right’ opposite Shreyas Talpade and ‘Pan Singh Tomar’ opposite Irrfan Khan.

The Film Fare awards will always remain the highest recognition in the Indian entertainment industry. This time the 55th Film Fare awards function was held on Saturday night 27th Feb 2010 at Yash Raj Studios and was hosted by Shahrukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan. Here is the final results list :

Famous Bollywood singer Udit Narayan’s son Aditya Narayan is set to make his debut as an full fledged singer and actor in Vikram Bhatt’s horror movie Shaapit. Aditya Narayan has sung many songs before as a child artist. Who can forget songs like Chota bachcha samjh ke from Masoom and Tu mera dil from Akele Hum Akele Tum. He has also worked as an child artist in movies like Rangeela, Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai and Pardes. Now its his turn to play the lead role. He has also recorded four songs in this movie.

Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto has signed an Greek mythology flick War of the Gods, directed by Tarsem Singh Dhandwar who was the assistant director for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button which was the highly acclaimed movie in 2008. Frieda is playing the role of oracle priestess Phaedra. The movie has Henry Cavill playing the role of the famous king of Athens called Theseus. This movie is scheduled for release in April 2011.

Shahid Kapoor is back to rock with his new movie Paath Shaala directed by Milind Ukey and producer Ahmed Khan .The movie is based on the school days where in Shahid plays the role of English school teacher. The cast includes Nana Patekar, Sunil Shetty and Ayesha Takia in the supporting roles. After the completion of this movie Shahid Kapoor and Ahmed Khan has decided to donate all the basic school utility items to the underprivileged kids studying in schools. This movie is all set to release on 9th of April 2010.
