Bollywood film fans and Indian Cinema aficionados are in for a real treat in 2007! More information and news is beginning to surface on the spectacular extravaganza planned for Yorkshire in 2007, namely the acclaimed International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Weekend and Awards which celebrates not just the latest Bollywood and Indian cinema, but also offers a host of workshops and events on Indian cinema, acclaimed Bollywood actors and actresses, and the peripheral world of Bollywood fashion and Hindi songs and music.
Yorkshire had some stiff competition from the likes of New York, Barcelona and Hong Kong - other competing destination hosts for the IIFA Indian Film Awards. The Hindi Film Industry leaders opted for the event to be held in June 2007 across top Yorkshire cultural world class cities including Leeds, Bradford, York, Sheffield, and Hull.
