Aishwarya Rai may probably play the role of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi in the period saga being directed by Ketan Mehta. Sushmita Sen was considered for this role but after hearing that Sushmita Sen’s film based on the same subject has been shelved, Ketan’s next choice was none other than Aishwarya Rai.
